Bye Bye Bank of America
Can BofA survive without me?

Today I am ending my relationship with Bank of America. No specific reason, except to consolidate everything into our joint account. Now I will only have two accounts Business and Pleasure. Wells Fargo has proved to me that with this continuous spiral of an economy that they made the right acquisitions to become stronger. Plus with the wife getting employee benefits on rates, it just makes sense to go with Wells Fargo.
I was quite surprised that they didn't twist my arm to stay or to try to entice me with any rates. Actually I didn't even have to sign anything or show an ID to close my account. All I had to do was enter a PIN at the teller and withdrawal all of my money and go to customer service and state that I want to close my account. I gave him my ATM card (without an ID) and he may have asked a question or two, but I would think that they would need an ID or want a signature. At least with closing my Credit Card, which had to be phoned in as the bank can't do it for some reason, they asked me if there was a reason for closing the account.
I guess that just shows you why the industry is so rotten, they don't care if you save money they just want you to spend.
