Installing Aegir on GoGrid

In order to manage multiple independent drupal websites, I am looking to move from a hosted cPanel to a more drupal friendly hosting solution.  I have been watching the Aegir project for some time and am now diving into it.   Below are instructions on how to install Aegir onto the GoGrid Clound Computing system.

 
First!!!! Disable SELinux by editing /etc/selinux/config

           Change SELINUX=permissive

Next, I had to add the CentOS testing repo to install php5.2 (required by Aegir/Drupal)

vi /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Testing.repo

                       [c5-testing]
                       name=CentOS-5 Testing
                       baseurl=http://dev.centos.org/centos/$releasever/testing/$basearch/
                       enabled=1
                       gpgcheck=1
                       gpgkey=http://dev.centos.org/centos/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-testing
                       includepkgs=php*

yum install php php-common php-cli php-mysql php-pdo httpd mysql-server postfix

Start apache and mysql (/etc/init.d/apache start, /etc/init.d/mysql start)

Add aegir user to mysql

 CREATE DATABASE aegir;
 GRANT SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, CREATE, DROP, INDEX, ALTER, \
 CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES, LOCK TABLES ON aegir.* TO \
 'aegir'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'XXXXXXXX';

Add the aegir user
    adduser --home-dir /var/aegir aegir
    mkdir -p /var/aegir/config/vhost.d
    mkdir -p /var/aegir/backups
    chmod -R 0700 /var/aegir/{config,backups}
    chown -R aegir /var/aegir/*
    vi /etc/group (add aegir to the apache group. And apache to the aegir group)
    vi /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
               Add the following
               Include /var/aegir/config/vhost.d/

Become the aegir user and start installing

     su -s /bin/sh aegir
     cd /var/aegir/
     wget http://ftp.drupal.org/files/projects/drush-All-Versions-2.0.tar.gz
     tar -xzf drush-All-Versions-2.0.tar.gz
     rm drush-All-Versions-2.0.tar.gz
     export DRUSH=/var/aegir/drush/drush.php
     mkdir .drush
     $DRUSH dl provision --destination=.drush
     $DRUSH dl drupal
     cd drupal-6.16/
    $DRUSH dl --destination=./profiles hostmaster
    mkdir profiles/hostmaster/modules
    $DRUSH dl --destination=./profiles/hostmaster/modules hosting
     $DRUSH dl --destination=./profiles/hostmaster/modules install_profile_api-6.x-2.1
     mkdir profiles/hostmaster/themes
     $DRUSH dl --destination=./profiles/hostmaster/themes eldir
     $DRUSH dl --destination=./profiles/hostmaster/modules admin_menu
     $DRUSH dl modalframe
     $DRUSH dl jquery_ui
     mkdir /var/aegir/config/vhost.d/server.ornelas.org
     cp /var/aegir/drupal-6.16/profiles/hostmaster/apache2.conf.txt /var/aegir/config/vhost.d/server.ornelas.org/server.ornelas.org.conf
     vi /var/aegir/config/vhost.d/server.ornelas.org/server.ornelas.org.conf
                  (this file changed from the original file that was there, so I'm not sure the exact settings(

      mkdir /var/aegir/drupal-6.16/sites/server.ornelas.org
      cp sites/default/default.settings.php sites/server.ornelas.org/settings.php
      chmod g+w sites/server.ornelas.org/settings.php
      mkdir sites/server.ornelas.org/files
      chmod 2770 sites/server.ornelas.org/files/
      chgrp apache sites/server.ornelas.org/settings.php
      chgrp apache sites/server.ornelas.org/files/

Exit back to root user. The following steps were needed, but will change in the future I'm sure

cd /var/aegir/drupal-6.16/sites/all/modules/jquery_ui/
wget http://jquery-ui.googlecode.com/files/jquery.ui-1.6.zip
unzip jquery.ui-1.6.zip
mv jquery.ui-1.6/ jquery.ui

Restart apache, and mysql
